Between two mighty oceans, on the southern tip of Africa, lies the historic Saxenburg Wine Farm. Here, memory and the seasons conspire with the cellarmaster’s craft to produce unique wines of consistent and exceptional quality. For centuries wayfarers bound for the East Indies found hospitality and relief at the Fairest Cape. At Saxenburg we extend this tradition and invite you to visit our world.

Trellised, summer pruning for lower yields and drip irrigation only to support quality.

Selected full ripe grapes fermented with yeast and no sulphur, in open tanks at 28°C. Punching down and pumping over four times daily and some skin contact after fermentation was allowed. Malolactic fermentation finished with natural bacteria in the tank.

Food pairing

The natural balance of it will compliment game, red meat or full flavoured meat dishes as well as pasta and pizza.
