Between two mighty oceans, on the southern tip of Africa, lies the historic Saxenburg Wine Farm. Here, memory and the seasons conspire with the cellarmaster’s craft to produce unique wines of consistent and exceptional quality. For centuries wayfarers bound for the East Indies found hospitality and relief at the Fairest Cape. At Saxenburg we extend this tradition and invite you to visit our world.

Heavy summer pruning, trellised with no irrigation or fertilizer.

12 months in 300 litre French oak barrels of which 30 % was new, 40% second fill and 30% third fill

The selected areas of the best blocks were harvested at optimum ripeness and yeast fermented in open tanks at 28°C. Regular punching down and pumping-over was practiced, with three weeks of skin contact after fermentation.

Food pairing

The wine is an ideal accompaniment to rich, full flavoured meat dishes.
